Auntie in the making

Before I become a stay at home mummy, many warn me about becoming like this :

Typical traits of an Auntie:

Curly hair.
(Ok I still prefer straight rebonded hair but somehow I am in love with curly perms again)

"Yellow Skin" 俗称: 黄脸婆 which means you have terrible skin conditions that you look jaundice !
(I do still use facial products however I find myself having less time for mask and etc)

Literally in sleep gowns.
(Hmmm...you just want to be in the most comfortable state at home. At least I don't wear it to markets. )

Looking out for cheap deals.
(Well, if there is offers products up for grabs, you wouldn't want to pay more right?)

Conclusion:
I am an Auntie in the making.

Education starts from young

I been contemplating to send Favian for courses but due to much considerations we had pushed the plan til now and I finally convinced hubby to let Favian go for trial classes first and we will decide whether to sign him up for the lessons.

Hence I went to Singapore Motherhood to search for feedbacks on various schools as everyone know these lessons doesn't come cheap. And I am also not sure whether Favian would have the patience to stay through the class and complete the lessons.

Here are the research for some highly raved preschool education in Singapore:

We had one outlet at Jurong Safra and we were quite interested in this as the location is near and they only allowed maximum 6 tots in a class which would not be too distracting. When Favian was younger, they had trial classes however now no more trial classes available. Not sure whether is it at paid rate now would go down and find out sometime next week.

We happened to pass by today at their Suntec's outlet and went in to get their brochure. The rates are rather reasonable since their classes are twice per week but location is a bit inaccessible for me. They had trial classes for $50 per class hence I am quite eager to go with Favian & try out. Compare to LNT , GUG is more into crafts, music and projects. Will read in details on their brochure and decide whether to let Favian try the trial.

Highly recommanded by march babies thread mummies. Haven't done much research on this hence not much comments.

Invented by a Japanese professor whom helped to stimulate the right brain of children from 0-3 years old. They have seminars on this method but I am not quite keen in this as I am looking for something more interactive and fun.

I am really interested in this but they actually only got classes for 18 months & above which make sense cos you can't possibly teach phonics in baby language ? Hence once Favian start speaking, I will sign him up for this. :)

All done with the research. Now awaiting from approval by our sponsor since we had different views in education.

Hopefully I can manage to convince him with more statistical data.

Meditation

I think I need some meditation to calm my soul and regain my sanity.

Yet at the same time my soul feels so lonely.

What an irony.

Hospitalisation

Our family luck is not too good this year as this is the 2nd case of hospitalisation for the 1st quarter of the year.

And I am so drained by all these happenings as people will have expectations from housewives thinking they are the most free people on Earth since we are not working. I just need to clarify that even though we are not working , housewives itself is a job title ! So please do not have the wrong conception that we are very free and will be available at any times !

Ok...anyway here is my brother with his inflammed thumb that Dr wants to keep him for observation afraid that the virus might be something else.

But am glad that he is finally discharged last night and recuperating at home now.

Happy Birthday to me

As the years go by, I no longer felt the excitement about birthdays as it is just a painful day that reminds me that age is catching up and I am already in my late twenties. But on the optimistic side, this is also a day that let me know I am still so loved by everyone although now Favian has used up most of my time and energy and I am left with little to catch up with friends and ex colleagues but I loved the fact that everyone made arrangement to celebrate this special day with me. I felt so loved !

Lots of people to thank on this special day of mine:

Hubby- Thank you for taking leave on my birthday despite your busy work loads and spending time alone with you is the greatest gift for me.

In Laws- For helping me to take care of Favian since last night so that Hubby & I can have some private moments together although I very much wanted to include my lil monster in the celebration.

Fengxia- For giving this mountain tortoise a chance to enjoy Hi-Tea with such beautiful scenery and helping me to take care of Favian during our outing.

The gang- For making special arrangement for this housewife , and still remembering this special day of mine despite me being absent for most of our gatherings for the past year.

Everyone- For all your well wishes and presents. Thank you for making me felt so loved !

Any wishes? Well my wishes are simple and easy to guess- For Hubby to excel in his career (so that I can have more pocket money & gifts) , good health for our family since I been falling sick so often for the first 1/4 of the year and our lil boy to be smart and adorable as always !

Horrifying One

I believe most mummies had heard about the Terrible two. Not sure what is it about but its definitely not a nice term. Actually it usually refers to toddler turning two years old, and start to have terrible tantrums, wants and needs. See link.

And after reading about it, I realise Favian is already in the horrifying one stage (term created by me) . I wonder how would it be when he reach the terrible two ?

Recently, he had been rather demanding with his wants or needs. For e.g. , he started to walk independently recently and in shopping malls he would insist on coming down to walk by himself and as he wished and if we did not acede to his request he would start to struggle or wails loudly or at home, he would demand me to carry him wherever I go or else he would cry non stop for at least 30 mins to protest.

See how terrible he is ?

His cries often drives me nuts and I would just lost myself and shout at him which I feel really guilty about it.

Hopefully the next stage would be better and not for worse.

Venepuncture

Update:

Hubby did not faint. But rest a long time in the clinic and outside the clinic. In the end, I had brunch at 11 am.

Hubby is going for his body check up today for his insurance and he is getting very nervous since last night. As the most annoying part of the body check up (as labelled by him) would be the venepuncture as the last time he did a blood check was at polyclinic 6 years ago and he ended up on a trolley. (He is going to kill me if he ever see this post.)

I wonder this round how long do Favian & I need to wait for him to recover before we proceed for breakfast.

Hmmm...

Marketing- Harvests

I must say Hypermarts are really too addictive for housewives. Once you stepped in, you felt like your house is lack of everything and you literally wanted to bring the whole hypermart home. From grocery, to tibits, to fresh food, I used up all the vouchers hubby gave me and I still needed to top up with my own cash.

Our Harvests.

I should be banned from roaming around the hypermarts alone.

Cartoon Network

Actually I wonder is it good or bad because Favian doesn't like to watch cartoon.

Good: If he can spend sometime sitting down watching cartoon, mummy can do some housework, facebooking or even blogging.

Bad: Doctors had advised and research had proven that it is not advisable for children below 2 years old to watch television as it might shorten their attention span and of course heaps of others adverse effects on watching tv. See link.
Hence I think I should be glad that Favian is not interested in what is happening in that little square box.

But after trying numerous times of the disney channels, I realise he is only interested in two particular cartoons.

Chuggington . A modern version of Thomas the train. Too bad playhouse Disney doesn't have Thomas the train. Or else I think I will have one more cartoon that catches his attention.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Channel 8 had it in chinese and Playhouse Disney in English. He loves both version.

Secretly wish that he will discover more favourites and mummy will have more leisure time instead of chasing him around the house. :p

Hi Tea at Equinox

Bestie found out that their Hi Tea Buffet at Equinox was highly raved online hence she arranged off day yesterday to give me a treat here as my pre birthday celebration. So sweet of her.

Wasn't intending to bring my lil terror to the Hi Tea with me initially but my in laws suddenly decided to go on a China trip last week hence no choice but to let the lil terror tag along. Even at this age , he seems to understand it was good food as through out the 1.5 hrs of the Hi Tea, he was literally eating non stop and mummy been really busy feeding him and didn't really had a chance to sit down and enjoy the scenery. At the end of the buffet, they actually charged us 3 adults and we got a shock ! Eventually they realised they had made a mistake and reverted back to 2 adults. But we were thinking they must be shocked the amount of things a 1 year old can eat, that is why the miscommunication. :p Anyway Hubby & I had been their once at night for their fine dining and it cost us a freaking $200++ for 2 main course and champagne. But yesterday the total damage was less $80 for 2 persons so in my point of view, just go for their Hi Tea and forget about fine dining unless you have plenty of extra cash to spare.

See how much the lil terror is enjoying himself. So still need me to rate their service and food ? And see how breathtaking is their scenery. Its definitely a worthwhile experience. We will definitely be back for more.
