Chaos
Sorry for the lack of post as nowadays my whole place is in total chaos. Boxes everywhere, packing up , throwing away, running toddler- all these are driving me crazy. Didn't know shifting house could be such a hassle as when we first bought this unit we moved in empty handed. Never know that we can accumulate so much stuffs through this 5 years of stay. Can't imagine if we were to move out like 10 years later. And our official moving date is 23rd Jan. Which means I am left with one week to get out of here. After all the packing up is the unpacking process at the new place. OMG.. Cannot imagine how tiring would that be.

·Things to throw away. This is jus 1/3 of it. Trust me. Boxes to bring over. This is also jus 1/3 of it. In the process of packing up still. :( It really has been a "packed up" weekend for us.

We are moving !
Finally after all the walking, hesistation, thoughts, we bought our desired unit. And yes I am going to invite my in laws to move in. When I tell many of my friends my decision, their first reaction would be 0_0 . As I been hearing alot of horror stories about staying with the in laws, I would say I would try my best to prevent all these horrors from happening. Generally so far, I seldom complain about my in laws until lil boy came along. The different school of thoughts and bringing up of children do drive me crazy at times. But I am looking at the pros for a bigger picture more than the cons. For the sake of my boy receiving a better care or rather holistic care and attention, for the sake of both Hubby and I can pursue another higher level in our career with good family support, for the sake of more couple time as and when we love to, I guess this move is a wise choice since my in laws really treat me better than my own mother. I guess sometimes I need to give and take. If I entrust my boy to their care, I need to respect the way they bring up the kids since they wouldn't do anything to harm their grandson. Keep up with the optimistic thoughts. And I am confident things will work out fine. Now am busy looking at things to dispose off and things to bring over to the new unit. Clearing the house to do valuation and putting it up on sale very soon. I am starting to miss this nest where both of us spent alot of effort building and the place where we started our family. I am feeling teary already.

The Canopy @ Yishun
Update: Eventually we are still going for the balloting. And big decision making for the weekends. Might end my SAHM mummy life pretty soon if we got our desired unit. Well, if its meant to be, its meant to be. We went to the sales office twice last Sunday. For the first trip, we just had the look look see see mindset. As our intention is to get a place to stay near my in laws or stay together so that lil boy is in good hands while I am back to the work force. However, after the look look see see (as the showflats are really fascinating ! ) , we decided to bring our in laws down for a 2nd view as my FIL actually urge us to get the bigger unit so that we could all stay together. Eventually we did register ourselves for the balloting , it was quite an impulsive decision hence hubby went home and again did more research on ECs and think the loan and etc is too hefty for us currently. Hence he called the sales agent the next day to withdraw our registration. Hubby asked me am I disappointed ? I replied, it was a great dream we shared together this afternoon but I am glad he was rationale enough to wait for better opportunities. It was nevertheless a great experience for me as it was my first time visiting a ECs sales office and hopefully there would be more opportunities in the future. =D

Craig and Carmy's Wedding
My camera died on me during the evening and I didn't realise that I actually have more than 100 shots for the whole day. But it was a romantic day ended at Raffles Hotel the lawn. All was perfect except the crying toddler who cried for 3/4 of the whole evening. Hubby said we are not bringing him for any more weddings til he is older to comprehend us. The morning event. She was very sexy in this self designed cheong sum. And the Groom got an easy door opening as my Aunt can't wait to drink the tea serve by her son in law and shooed the bridesmaid away with her key to unlock the gate. Haha. Solemnisation ceremony at the Lawn. Very nice place except the weather is killing us. The handsome angmoh in the pic is Grant- Craig's younger bro who is married for 10 years with 3 kids ! OMG ! The Marching In was a moment that got us all teary. And they received all the blessings from friends and relatives. Its a fairytale moment. After the ceremony , we proceeded to East India Rooms for our dinner. The dinner was filled with entertainment with live band and first dance presented by the couple. And the finale was a belly dancer whom got some of the guest up the stage for belly dancing. I was nearly ushered up until my cousin signalled to her by shaking her head guess she know I need to take care of my boy. Phew.. All the best to Cousin Carmy and Cousin in law Craig ! Wish you many good years ahead and have a blissful marriage ! :) Labels: Family

TOYs TOYs TOYs !
Grocery Shopping ! Daddy scolded me for buying such a girly toy for him. But it teaches him activities of daily living. I find it quite educational and most importantly, he enjoys playing it ! Rock Star in the making. This was totally unexpected as I bought it because its cheap but when Daddy asked me why did I get this for lil boy ? I told him because he can start practising how to Lang Sai and can earn some money during CNY next time. Haha

4th Month
Tomorrow marks the 4th month for me as a SAHM.
·Before I became a SAHM, and started asking around whether am I suitable, everyone gave me negative answer. My good friends says I don't have the SAHM calibre, my own mother says I can't survive without shopping and so does my own husband. Hence, I decided to go ahead with it and prove to the world that I am a mother. So what can be so difficult being a SAHM ? I was wrong. First two months was horrible + terrible. I called my best friend and cried. Husband do not understand my plight, he thinks that I am unreasonable. Staying at home whole day what can be so difficult ? He came home, ate dinner , played a while with lil boy and slept. I felt like I was in hell cos I had endless housework to do, I need to cook and I need to have the energy to chase after a curious toddler whom had difficulty with his solids and on top of that I still need to struggle to go marketing and runs errands since Husband is always working overtime and literally had no time for any other stuffs. Physically and mentally , I was drained out. I began to miss the times where I had lunch with colleagues and occasional pre dinner dessert at Jurong Point. Socially, I missed out alot of gatherings as I need to take care of the lil one and bringing him out at peak hours is literally a difficult task for me. I felt lonely & distressed. And gradually I survived thru the first two months. Began to find good opportunities to talk to husband regarding myself and occasional afternoon tea with my friends whom came all the way to Jurong Point for my sake ( I am really grateful for that) and I decided to bring lil one for school which gave me excuses and opportunities to travel downtown for window shopping or shopping in actual fact. I felt more socially in touch with the outside world. I began to organise my time better for housework and getting at hand with lil one's daily habits and routines. Things are gradually getting better and I am starting to enjoy my life as a SAHM. Though there has been so much ups and downs in the route I had chosen, but the rewards are priceless. I get to hug the lil one to sleep every night which had been a dream that only comes true during my leave, he learns the bonding with me and would sit on my lap and watch tv together. I was the first one there to witness his first words: Daddy, Ma-mee, Bao Bao, Ball Ball, Bye Bye and not hearing all these thru my mother in law. I was there with him for all his developments - teething, learning to communicate, schooling, self feeding, drinking from a straw cup. And to conclude the 4th month, I am now a happy SAHM. P.S: although part of me still hope that I can go back to work and our life could be more luxurious than now. But for now, nothing matters to me more than the lil one and my family. Happy Daddy's Day
2nd Daddy's day for Daddy this year. We didn't have a proper celebration last year since last year Daddy's day I was in upset mode because I was getting ready to get back to work after the long ML. Hence this year, Daddy wanted a nice family dinner. I decided to open ceremony the induction cooker I bought like ages ago which was kept in the store room. Just a simple dinner but the only thing is because its healthy, Favian gets to eat our table food for the first time. First family dinner for us. :) The usual shabu meat comes in a super big platter hence I decided to make my own shabu meat. Daddy & I spent a long time malleting this chunk of meat but we had great fun. And they tasted as good as the pre packed ones. My happy dearies. Happy Daddy's Day ! Labels: Family

PS
I am on cloud 9 now. After much persuasion and psycho-ing from me, Hubby had given the green light for us to go for Photoshoot ! Its hard for him to come up with this decision since he dreads photoshooting and he thought its really a waste of money. This shows how much he loves our lil boy. :) So now I am going to proceed with the liasing and etc with the photographer. Looking forward to it. Stay tuned for the updates. Yippie !

Hospitalisation
Our family luck is not too good this year as this is the 2nd case of hospitalisation for the 1st quarter of the year. And I am so drained by all these happenings as people will have expectations from housewives thinking they are the most free people on Earth since we are not working. I just need to clarify that even though we are not working , housewives itself is a job title ! So please do not have the wrong conception that we are very free and will be available at any times ! Ok...anyway here is my brother with his inflammed thumb that Dr wants to keep him for observation afraid that the virus might be something else. But am glad that he is finally discharged last night and recuperating at home now. Labels: Family |
